Food and service are consistently great. The menu is huge, yet everything I've tried has been awesome and filled me up. Good portion sizes and decent prices. They have food to cater to all kinds of people, like seafood, steaks, pizza, subs, burgers, and even the appetizers are good. Only nitpick is that the location is easy to miss.

Not a good experience. Our food took almost an hour. Steak was undercooked. We were charged $8 extra for 6 shrimp on a salad. There was no ice in our drinks, being that we were outside and it was a hot day. There was also a 4% up charge for using a credit card that we were not made aware of until after paying.

The burger was fantastic. It seemed like a homemade party cooked to a good medium. The hush puppies came with cinnamon butter and was very tasty. I'm personally not a fan of crinkle fries but to each their own.

It was very busy and our service was a bit frazzled. We had to wait for our drinks and food. The food was good but it seemed our server was all over the place.

Food was great. But service was not. Ordered take out. The bar tender was the one dealing with take out seeing as the bar is closed. She was rude. The menu online says, Gratuity on parties on 6 or more. Yet was charged the 15% on my take out order for 2. Food was good but won't go back cause the rude tude dude!!!!

The service was phenomenal. The food was good. But, it took well over an hour to get our food. The server (who was great!) said our pizzas were what delayed the order. At an hour and ten minutes we spoke with the manager who said that they'd gotten many to go orders since we placed ours and those get prioritized, and while that was unfortunate that we waited so long, the to go orders were a priority. The food other than the pizzas (crab legs and a burger) cold and a side of potatoes we had ordered tasted like dishwater. So the take away, order to go and just eat there. That's right there were people ordering to go and then using there tables after they "picked up" their order.

Just ate there for first time take out was delicious flounder cooked perfectly. Will be eating there alot more often. Staff was very courteous.

Eclectic Pub, Bar or whatever you want to call it. Great hours - one of the few places that stays open. Wide choice of beverages, a good beer selection. The food is very satisfying, ample portions - very good pizza. Staff is polite and attentive, very good service.

First time here and will be the last. Food was not good. We had to ask where the cole slaw was the hush puppies....which we never got....finally brought out the potatoes after we had ate. Had to ask for refills. Took forever to bring out the chips and queso. I just was not impressed with this place.

Crab dip is amazing and scallops are life changingly delicious.

It was only outdoor setting which was fine. We ordered pickles for our appetizer and it literally took 45 minutes for them to come out. The server we had was great. Just better turn around time in the kitchen. This was our first time to the area and not sure we will come back here.

Crab legs were good. Peel and eat shrimp were overcooked. My steak had to be sent back twice. Overcooked. I received the bill and I was overcharged for the steak by $8 due to covid 19. When I asked about it I was told that there was 1 small sign posted in 1 of the 2 entrances. But my waitress DID NOT mention the upcharge when I placed my order. Very disappointed. Will not be back.

I have to be honest with you, this place used to be good but since moving back to the island, I've tried it once and had higher expectations. However my experience besides the interaction with the server which fine and they were nice besides charging me a gratuity/fee for pickup(which I thought was the only option). They may have some dishes that are edible but Im sure they come out of the same disgusting kitchen as my meal came out of. I ordered the shrimp scallops and fish fry, came with coleslaw and fries and wow. I mean I live almost right across the street and as soon as I hot home I opened the box and everything was soggy, overbreaded, fish was dry and rubbery and shrimp were frozen style bait shrimp i think. Fries weren't even considerable. I wish I could recommend this place but... I won't.

Ordered chips and cheese as an appetizer, definitely not what I thought it was. Fried seafood was not crisp. My flounder was even soggy. It was soggy as was the fries. Cole slaw was gross.

Decent food, extensive menu from raw oysters to steaks and chicken fingers. Prices are reasonable, but they do add 4% to your bill if you pay with a card...Frowny face....

We love ADAM ❤️ Our server for the day . He was absolutely amazing in every way. We frequented the establishment 3 years ago when my husband was dredging bald head. The owner and staff were equally fabulous , then and now. All the negative and nasty reviews prompted me to write this one .. Our food was WONDERFUL as always . And growing up with a commerical fishing family i know good seafood . Fish tacos with Mahi mahi and a flounder basket .. delish.. Adam could not have been more friendly and accommodating. Sure it took a bit longer , the rules and situation somewhat different than normal ... But people come on take a break and give these hardworking , under staffed , stressed out folks a break. They have always been here for the customer and are all having a hard time just like we are . We will be back . Thank you Pirates deck for staying open and serving your community the best you can . And ALWAYS welcoming locals and out of state guests alike .

Got the pirates bucket or whatever it's called. Got the one for 2 people and it was enough to maybe feed a couple toddlers. 50 bucks down the tube. Everything tasted like it was frozen for a really long time. The clams, muscles, oysters were puny. Very bland and just not good. There weren't even any potatoes in it like the menu said. There was so little, we had to go get food somewhere else because we were still hungry. I do not recommend this place, we thought because it was right on the ocean, everything would be fresh and good, boy were we wrong. Bluck.

Was there this weekend and went there 3 times great service and great food

We came here while on vacation, the sever we had was nice however the crab came out dirty and we did not eat it. The food came out cold after waiting for an hour and when the owner came out he did not help at all instead he was rude and told us to never come back to this establishment.

Recommended by a local in Oak Island, NC we recently dined at this small "hole in the wall" located on a small street off the main drag. Parking was not a problem right outside the restaurant. The majority of the seating is outside although a small inside. The place to me had a very hidden beachy island tiki vibe, definitely the best experience for us was sitting outside at the bar. I was told the food was very good, so I took a chance and ordered the steak. It was awesome and cooked to perfection - median rare! I noticed the connecting building was being renovated possibly an expansion of the restaurant. If it is that's great as the food is excellent but I hope they do not lose the appeal and vibe which makes this place special on the island. Highly recommend!

My steak was over cooked but staff was great and all in all food was good. Captains basket was great!

We had dinner there on Friday 6/26/20. There were 4 of us and we each ordered 2 pounds of crab legs. They were the best crab legs ever! We also had a fantastic server, Isaiah. Isaiah had a very refreshing positive attitude. This was one of the best meals I have had in OKI!

Great friendly atmosphere. I love how you have the chose of dining inside or outside on the patio deck! Lots of things to order from the menu, from a simple hamburger, handmade pizza, or seafood dishes, just to name a few.If you like to mingle with the locals, then the Pirates Deck is the place to visit and unwind..

It’s such a great beach bar, even when it’s busy and expanding, staff is excellent

The service was terrible. I've eaten here several times in the past and it was great. This year wasn't the case. Several tables got their food before us. We were definitely there way longer than they were.

Busy as usually, but with many beer selections and T.V.s everywhere who cares, if you have to wait. Food is good and attentive wait staff make this place a hit.. Looking forward to the opening of new addition.

The service and the food here were both good. I had a Sweetwater 420 G13 and the 4 pepper hot wings and enjoyed them both.

I have eaten at ALL the restaurant in the Oak Island / Southport area. And bar-none Pirates Deck is the best for the money, and in many cases is the best no matter how much you pay. Steaks, Burgers, Fried & Steamed Shrimp, fried fish. All are great. Very good salads also. Don’t forget the Bud Lite draft. Honey Hush.

So their food was good but not great except the crab, it was amazing. We ordered a pound of crab, 2 4oz cheeseburgers that we upgraded to doubles, chili cheese fries, and garlic knots. We did takeout but we had to go in to get our food and the staff was very RUDE! Then they added 20% gratuity to our bill even tho it was take out and their service and food quality didn’t deserve that! I would skip this place bc plenty of restaurants here in Oak Island serve amazing crab!

Service was mediocre at best. Premises looked pretty dumpy. Pretty decent food and drink menu, but really overpriced for the quality and portions. The food took a long time, especially considering it was just fried shrimp and potatoes. In particular, the po' boy was plain, and is nothing to write home about. Seems like this is only suitable for local regulars.

Our waitress was phenomenal. Our food was good and the drinks were as well. The red potatoes that came with my juicy steak were dry with no seasoning. Other than that, it was great.

Little hole in the wall that is best on the deck. The inside isn't much to talk about but the outside deck atmosphere is nice. During Covid we set outside and off to ourselves. The food was very good and our waitress was polite. Great seafood

Went as a group of 7. The atmosphere is nice, waitress was polite. Our appetizers took a good 25 min but our main courses came out in a timely manner. However, all of the adult plates came out incomplete. The waitress was nice enough about getting the missing items. The seafood was subpar for the high price. Overall, very “meh”.

We love Pirates Deck & recommend it to our renters when they visit. Great prices, friendly staff, & something on the menu for everyone.

Just ok, need better service. 1st time there a few days ago. You eat outside which is fine. Only a few people there. Waitress came to the table with menus and silverware. Brought our water and asked for straws. Waited and and waited. Had to get her attention to ask for straws again. She had someone else bring them. Never came to the table to ask how it was until we were done. Again it wasn't busy at all. Won't return.

Decent food. But they want a 4% upcharge for credit card and 15% tip on take out. I tip if I get good service. Not so you don't have to compensate your help

the food here is fantastic - especially the pizza! The atmosphere is "beachy" in the open air bar area and fun!
